Local Produce

Here in Nottinghamshire we are brimming with pride at the range of food and drink produced locally across the county. With an outstanding array of produce that ranges from the Bramley Apple to Stilton Cheese, we have some excellent places to eat and purchase local delicacies.

Nottingham city...
Food connoisseurs should really head to Nottinghamshire’s two-Michelin-starred chef's establishment - Restaurant Sat Bains -  discover t the delights of World Service or Hart’s Restaurant. All of these venues use local produce throughout their seasonal menus.

Homemade is a splendid café, producing homemade food since 2005, including the most incredible cakes and treats. Homemade support local producers and use suppliers within a 3-mile radius of the café. Believing in real food in a traditional manner, the proof is genuinely in the pudding and it really does show in their menu.

In the West Bridgford area of the city, Copper Bar Café and Riverbank Bar and Kitchen come highly recommended too. Copper Bar Café is open from 8am and serves food through to 9pm while the Riverbank offers a more restaurant and bar experience.

Out of the city, you will find the producers themselves who open their doors to the public to share their incredibly delicious wares.

Haughton Farm Park is well worth a visit to sample the delicious Thaymar Ice Cream.  The Cheetham family have been farming at Haughton Park Farm since 1923. Thelma Cheetham started making her wonderful luxury ice cream in the mid-eighties, using only natural ingredients and milk from the family's herd of pedigree Friesians. For more ice cream options, head to Newfield Dairy Ice Cream Parlour and Café near Southwell which again has freshly made ice creams and sorbets.

Farm shops are great places to seek out fresh local produce and we have many places for you to pop into around the county. Welbeck Farm Shop near the Harley Gallery is an excellent place to find locally produced dishes and Gonalston Farm Shop near Lowdham is identified as one of the best in the country.

Many hotels across the county also support local produce through their restaurants and it’s worth considering these as places to eat. Look out for the Tastes of Nottinghamshire logo on selected products on our website.

Nottinghamshire is a haven for foodies. Almost everywhere you look and turn there are fantastic boutique cafes, sumptuous restaurants, farm shops and diverse markets offering a range of dishes, which are homemade and include locally produced ingredients.
